Rivian's proprietary energy-intensive battery evenly distributes the weight between the wheels, literally driving the car to the ground at speed and when cornering.
SENSORS FOR AUTOPILOT
A set of Rivian R1S sensors: lidar (Light Detection And Ranging - light detection and ranging system), radar, cameras and ultrasonic sensors that provide a variety of ways to perceive the environment and traffic electronics.
TRAILED AUTOPILOT
Level 3 autonomy * is available on every 2021 Rivian R1S SUV, allowing you to get your hands off the wheel and not look at the road. * The third level assumes: Steering, acceleration / deceleration - vehicle systems; Surrounding Monitoring - Vehicle Systems; Decision making in dynamic driving - human; Driving Modes - The car is only responsible for some of the functions.
HYDRAULIC ROLL CONTROL
The Rivian hydraulic system provides excellent wheel and body control both on and off the road. This suspension system also includes Adaptive Damping Control, which dynamically adjusts at each wheel in fractions of a second, optimizing traction wherever you are.
BRANDED "STADIUM" HEADLIGHTS
The 2021 Rivian R1S SUV is quickly recognizable with its iconic, stadium signature headlights that consume a minimum of energy and have a wide beam for better visibility.
