The all-new 2024 Ranger officially unveiled by Ford – upgraded body, increased wheelbase and better stability. The suspension has also been redesigned, with rear shocks and mounts relocated to improve both ride and handling. It also gave the pickup truck more ground clearance and better entry angles to make it more capable off-road.
Two powertrains are available under the hood of the 2024 North American Ford Ranger: a turbocharged Ford 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost with 270 hp. and 420 Nm or optional Ford 2.7L Twin-Turbocharged V6 EcoBoost with 315 hp and 542 Nm of torque. Both are mated to Ford's 10-speed automatic transmission. The new Ranger has a load capacity of up to 818 kg and a maximum towing limit of 3402 kg.
The American Ranger is very similar to its international counterparts, although each configuration — XL, XLT and Lariat — has unique front end styling elements. A new built-in side step makes it easier to access items in the truck bed, while an additional 400W outlet provides portable power.
In terms of technology, the 2024 Ford Ranger offers class-exclusive features such as Active Park Assist 2.0 to help during parallel or perpendicular parking. In addition, Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Trailer Reverse Guidance are also new additions to the midsize pickup truck that have already been featured on the Ford F-150 and Ford Super Duty.
Inside, the 2024 Ford Ranger has been completely redesigned with an available wireless charging pad, folding rear seats, standard 8" digital instrument cluster (optional 12.4") and standard 10.1" (optional 12") central infotainment screen.
It will be possible to buy Ford Ranger at the end of the month – that's when the banks of orders will open. The new Ranger starts at $34,160 and is expected to be available in late summer, although V6-powered models won't arrive until Fall.
