Official: the mid-size Ram pickup truck will be released in 2027

The Ram brand has confirmed the release of a new mid-size pickup truck in 2027 at the Belvidere, Illinois, plant. This will be the brand's return to the segment it left in 2011 after the end of production of the Dodge Dakota.
The new model will offer gasoline, hybrid and electric versions, reflecting Stellantis' strategy of using different types of engines. In 2023, dealers were shown an electric concept, and the gasoline Ram Rampage was tested on US roads, but it was released in the South American market.
The official confirmation from Stellantis was received by the Car and Driver portal. The plant will be modernized, 1,500 new employees will enter production. The model will compete with the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma and Chevy Colorado.
