General Motors is preparing a revolution in the world of self-driving technology. In 2028, the company will unveil an updated version of Super Cruise, whose main feature is the ability to take your eyes off the road. The debut of this technology is expected in the electric SUV Cadillac Escalade IQ.
The driver will be able to watch TV or use their phone while the car drives itself on roads compatible with the technology. For other road users, turquoise indicators on the body will signal that the “eyes-off” mode is activated.
According to GM CEO Mary Barra, the new version of Super Cruise will appear on other models in the lineup faster than the previous generation. Initially, the mode will work only on limited highway sections, but it will later expand to cover more regions.
